Install Security Update 11 to upgrade the UNIX security modules on ESM 5.x agents. For detailed descriptions of new features and enhancements, download the ESM Security Update 11 Release Notes.
New features and enhancements for ESM agents running on UNIX operating systems include:
- Added support for Red Hat Linux versions 7.1 and 7.2.
- Updates to all UNIX Patch templates including
- New patch checks for SNMP v1 vulnerabilities and vendor-released patches dated on or before February 11, 2002 for Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, and Red Hat Linux operating systems.
- Type field added to Patch templates to define Mandatory, Optional, and Forbidden patches and new messages to report Forbidden patches with Red, Yellow, and Green security levels.
- New Solaris CIS benchmark check added to Login Parameters module to Check Warning Banners on all UNIX systems with banner files.
- New Solaris CIS benchmark checks added to Startup Files module to check EEPROM security mode and auto-boot? parameters.
- Non-wrapped services check added to Startup Files module on all supported UNIX systems.
- Checks for Listening TCP Ports and Listening UDP Ports added to the UNIX Network Integrity module.
- Addition of a 2nd Pattern field to the File Content Search template in the File Find module.
