Note: If you plan to upgrade to Symantec ESM 5.5 in the near future, we recommend that you install Symantec ESM 5.5 before applying Security Update 13 (SU13). Symantec ESM 5.5 contains SU8. If SU13 is installed to an older version of Symantec ESM, it will need to be reapplied after Symantec ESM 5.5 is installed.

Note: Security Update 13 is released for use on all Symantec ESM-supported Windows platforms. Though all supported UNIX platforms are discussed in the Symantec ESM SU13 User's Guide for UNIX Modules, SU13 is currently only supported on Solaris 2.6-9+ operating systems. Use previous Security Updates and documentation when securing other UNIX and Linux operating systems. The changes and enhancements discussed in this document will be supported on other UNIX platforms in a future Security Update release. This version of SU13 is not compatible with ESM 5.5.1 Japanese.

Description

Install Security Update 13 to upgrade the Windows and Solaris security modules on Symantec ESM 5.1 and 5.5 agents. For detailed descriptions of new features and enhancements, download the Symantec ESM Security Update 13 Release Notes.

• All security modules have been double-byte enabled to support the future release of localized ESM versions in select language markets.
