Description
Install Security Update 17 to upgrade UNIX and Windows security modules on Symantec ESM 6.0 and 5.5 agents. For detailed descriptions of new features and enhancements, download Security Update 17 Release Notes.

Note: Use SU15 for NetWare. In Japanese, SU17 is compatible with Symantec ESM 5.5.3 Japanese on Windows and Solaris operating systems only.

Windows and UNIX platforms

• New options are added to the Integrated Command Engine (ICE).

Windows only platforms

• New checks are added to the Network Integrity module for creating global objects and impersonating a client for authentication
• A new option is added to the Login Parameters module for limiting Inactive accounts duration.
• New options are added to the OS Patches module for controlling which patch file attributes are examined.

UNIX only platforms

• A new option is added to the OS Patches module for reporting superseded patches.
• Two new password age checks are added to the Password module for HP-UX operating systems.
