Description
The Symantec Enterprise Security Manager Security Update 30 has been enhanced to support Windows Vista and SLES 9 IBM eServer PPC agents. This release also provides support for Windows Server 2003 agents on SP2 and Linux agents on SLES 9 SP3. In addition, eight new checks have been added in various modules.

Install Security Update 30 to upgrade UNIX and Windows security modules on Symantec ESM 5.5 and 6.x agents. For detailed descriptions of new features and enhancements, download Security Update 30 Release Notes.

Enhancements
The Security Update 30 provides the following enhancements:

• Support for the following agents:
  • Windows Vista Enterprise and Business editions (32-bit, 64-bit)
  • SLES 9 IBM eServer PPC (64-bit)
• Support for the following new service packs:
  • Support for Windows Server 2003 agents on SP2
  • Support for Linux agents on SLES 9 SP3
• Seven new checks in the System Auditing module
  • Days until application events are overwritten
  • Days until system events are overwritten
  • Application events do not overwrite application log
  • System events do not overwrite system log
  • Archive Application events log when full
  • Archive security event log when full
  • Archive system event log when full
• One new check in the Usrfiles module
  • Hide writable files in ww dir

About Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit) agents
The Symantec ESM 6.5 Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit) agents have been updated to fix the following issues:

• Denial-of-service vulnerability
• Manifest.xml was not getting updated after applying LiveUpdate on the Windows Vista agents
