
















Michel Bensadoun is Vice President and General Manager of Europe Western Region, responsible for Symantec’s sales and business engagement in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, the Nordics and Baltic region. Under Michel’s tenure the region has grown boasting over 600 employees including a Research & Development facility.
Bensadoun joined Symantec in 2003 and successfully managed the regional integration of Veritas which expanded the company’s presence and strategic offerings. An advocate for workplace satisfaction he actively champions the organisation’s Diversity and Inclusion program. In addition, Bensadoun frequently connects with customers and government leaders across a broad range of issues and topics pertaining to IT infrastructure and security needs.
Prior to joining Symantec, Bensadoun held a number of General Manager positions overseeing regional and country sales teams for companies including Commerce One, Oracle and IBM – holding the role of Vice President, Latin America based in the US.
John Brigden is senior vice president of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) geography, responsible for driving Symantec's sales, operations, and business development across the region. He brings to this role more than fifteen years experience in sales support and legal affairs with an expertise in regulatory and compliance issues, which are topics top of mind with customers today.
Brigden joined Symantec as senior vice president, general counsel through the company’s merger with VERITAS Software. At VERITAS, Brigden also served as senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary, leading all legal matters, including sales and services transactions, compliance and corporate governance, intellectual property, strategic partnerships, litigation, and M&A.
Prior to joining VERITAS, Brigden held a number of management positions supporting sales and corporate development, as well as legal affairs and compliance for emerging and large technology enterprises, including Shutterfly, Inc. and Silicon Graphics, Inc. His technical background includes engineering positions at Rockwell International and General Motors Corporation. Brigden began his legal career in private practice focusing on complex commercial licensing transactions, anti-trust and intellectual property litigation. He also served as an intern with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Brigden holds a J.D. degree with honors from Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with honors from Purdue University. Brigden is a member of the California Bar Association and is also licensed to practice law in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He currently serves on the boards of both the Business Software Alliance and the Software Information Industry Association.
Luigi Brusamolino is Vice President Symantec Global Services. He is responsible for sales, business development and delivery for Symantec’s global services in EMEA region.
Luigi joined Symantec in September 2004 as Manager in Consulting Services organization in Italy. During the last 3 years, Luigi has been responsible for services organization in Italy and Southern EMEA and managed the merger between Symantec and Veritas services in this region. In 2007 Luigi has managed services business in both Southern and Emerging market in EMEA.
Before joining Symantec he served as senior manager in the security and risk management business unit at PricewaterhouseCoopers. During his career at PwC he advised senior executives of Fortune 500 companies in financial, telecommunications, power & energy, and government sectors on IT governance and information security related issues. Previously he was regional manager and partner at Securteam, the AtosOrigin company, providing security solutions in Italy, and a program manager at ABB – Asea Brown-Boveri. He started his career in 1988 at Alcatel Telettra as a software engineer in the research and development department.
Luigi holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a PhD in Logic and Artificial Intelligence from the State University of Milan and is a CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
Andrew Douglas is Vice President for Emerging Markets for Symantec in EMEA. As such, he is responsible for developing Symantec’s business strategy for one of the fastest growing regions world wide, incorporating the South Africa, Russia, Middle East, Dubai and Israel.
Prior to being appointed Vice President for Emerging Markets, Douglas was the VP for Specialist Sales, a very key area for developing sales growth for strategic and acquired technologies. He was also the VP for the Northern Region just prior to the merger with Veritas. When Douglas joined Symantec he held the position of enterprise sales director for Symantec in the UK and Ireland, where he was instrumental in developing a sales strategy aligning the sales of Symantec’s enterprise security solutions to vertical markets – a move which had a significant impact in increasing the sales of high end-security products. His promotion to vice president is recognition of his focus and success in driving the success of the Northern region.
Before joining Symantec as enterprise sales director in August 2002, Douglas spent 18 years in a range of commercial roles in the IT industry, including Info’Products and solutions provider Basilica Computing. His previous experience includes managerial positions in the channel, where he has built service businesses from scratch and led the consolidation of six European acquisitions into one operating company worth $200m.
Douglas is married with four children and is a keen football player and occasional golfer.
Art Gilliland is vice president of product management for the Symantec Information Risk Management (IRM) Group which is responsible for all messaging technologies including anti-spam, anti-virus, archiving and electronic investigations/e-discovery as well as responsible for the compliance process automation technologies. Art’s team is responsible for product strategy, market development and definition of the product roadmaps through close interaction with customers and partners. IRM includes the following product families: Symantec Brightmail Gateway, Symantec Enterprise Vault and Symantec Control Compliance Suite.
Art joined Symantec through the acquisition of IMlogic, the industry leader for instant messaging security and management. One of the original IMlogic team members in 2002, Art served as the vice president of products and marketing where he led product management, strategic alliances and marketing demand generation. Art is the author of several key patents for instant messaging security.
Art earned a BA in Economics from Carleton College and a MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Daniel Graves is senior director of product management for Gateway Security at Symantec, where he leverages more than 15 years of industry software experience to oversee the development of the company’s award-winning email and web protection solutions. Products he owns include Brightmail Gateway, Brightmail Message Filter, and Symantec Multi-tier Protection.
Before joining Symantec, Daniel was group product manager for the Collaboration Software group at Sun Microsystems, where he was responsible for the development and delivery of the company’s collaboration products including instant messaging, mobile email, and VoIP.
Prior to Sun Microsystems, Daniel managed software initiatives at a series of leading vendors including NeXT, Apple, NetDynamics, Rockwell International's Research Labs, NASA, and Knownow.
Daniel earned a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University with other coursework in the business school. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors from Iowa State University with a bachelor of science degree in Computer Engineering.
Pat Hanavan has 25+ years experience in the computer industry, and has been with Symantec for the majority of that time. Over the course of his career at Symantec, Hanavan has held roles in engineering from lead developer, development manager, business unit director and technical director and now leads the product management team for Symantec Backup Exec. Hanavan is the Vice President of Product Management of the company’s Data and Systems Management business unit.
Hanavan’s product management team is responsible for overall product direction, strategies and business performance for the Symantec Backup Exec family of products which include Backup Exec for Windows Servers, Backup Exec System Recovery and Backup Exec for NetWare. The Backup Exec products are industry leaders and they are regularly awarded by users and publications for their innovations, ease of use and performance.
Prior to his product management responsibilities, Pat was responsible for the Backup Exec engineering team for many years and was a major contributor to driving technology innovations in collaboration with key partners. The technology innovations within the then VERITAS products were in the areas of SAN based backup solutions, disk based data protection methods, open file protection and alternate backup methods. Hanavan was also a founding member and active contributor to the company’s Patent Filter Committee, and is a Symantec inventor as well.
Hanavan graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas with a bachelor’s degree. Hanavan also attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where he pursued a master’s degree in computer science.
Simon Jelley is senior director of product management for the Enterprise Vault product and the Mail Security products for Exchange, Domino and SharePoint. These products form a key part of Symantec's Information Risk Management strategy and products which helps customers secure and manage their unstructured information such as email, IM, and files.
Simon Jelley was a founder of KVS, and joined Symantec as part of the acquisition of Enterprise Vault into Veritas. During his time with KVS, Simon worked as a QA Engineer, Support Analyst, Consultant and Technical Specialist on the Enterprise Vault product.
Brad Kingsbury is senior vice president of Symantec's Endpoint Security and Management group, whose mission is to leverage the Altiris management infrastructure to provide a more robust and secure environment for Symantec’s customers.
Kingsbury most recently served as vice president of Symantec’s Endpoint Security and Messaging Security product groups. Prior to joining Symantec, he served as vice president of engineering at Brightmail, an anti-spam software company that was acquired by Symantec in 2004.
Before Brightmail, Kingsbury was vice president of engineering and chief technical officer at McAfee.com. Prior to that, he worked as an independent consultant to a number of security and storage management software companies, including Veritas and Symantec.
Kingsbury worked for Symantec earlier in his career and served as Chief Technologist from 1985 through 1996. He joined Symantec the first time through Symantec’s acquisition of Peter Norton Computing. Kingsbury was Peter Norton's first programmer as well as the sole designer and developer of the Norton Utilities.
Kingsbury received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from California State University at Northridge.
Mark Lohmeyer is a Vice President of the Veritas Cluster Server Group at Symantec, with responsibility for defining the product strategy for Symantec’s high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Mr. Lohmeyer joined Veritas in 2001, prior to its merger with Symantec, and has previously held roles in Business Development and Alliances. Prior to Symantec, Mark has held product management and business development roles at Adaptec, worked as a business strategy consultant at Cap Gemini, and has designed hardware systems for digital image processing at the Sarnoff Research Labs.
Mark has a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Deepak Mohan is senior vice president of the Data Protection Group at Symantec Corporation. He is responsible for the strategy, development and delivery of Symantec’s data protection products, including Veritas NetBackup, PureDisk, Symantec Backup Exec and Backup Exec System Recovery. These market-leading products ensure successful backup and recovery of information and systems for organizations ranging from small business to large enterprise. The goal of the Data Protection Group is to deliver products that provide data protection and system availability for Symantec customers by using the latest disk, tape, deduplication, indexing and virtual technologies.
Mohan previously served as vice president of the Symantec Backup Exec product group, where he led the engineering and product management teams to successfully launch Backup Exec 12 for Windows Servers – the gold standard in Windows data protection – and Backup Exec System Recovery 8.0 in February 2008.
Prior to joining Symantec, Mohan held senior level engineering management positions with Veritas Software, Seagate Software, Query Object Systems, Computer Associates and Cheyenne Software. He has more than 20 years of experience in the software industry.
Mohan holds a master's degree in Computer Science from New York University and a bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. India. He holds two patents in the data protection space.
As vice president of the global channel office, Julie Parrish is responsible for developing and executing Symantec’s global channel strategy. In this role, she also leads the worldwide partner organization, delivering best-inclass enablement programs to support Symantec’s global partner ecosystem. Most recently, Parrish lead the channel team in the Partner Experience initiative, which created a cross-functional, executive sponsored approach to measuring and improving the partner experience across all partner touchpoints, including products, licensing, support and ease of doing business. The result has been an eight-fold increase in partner satisfaction, creation of new internal processes to drive continuous improvements and heightened awareness with all functions of the needs of the Symantec partner community.
Prior to her current role, she served as Symantec’s vice president of enterprise, mid-market, and channel marketing, providing the strategic direction and ensuring solid execution of Symantec’s enterprise and mid-market marketing efforts.
Parrish has more than 23 years of experience in channel, corporate, and field marketing at Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Symantec, Parrish was vice president of the Americas field and channel marketing for Veritas. In this role, Parrish was responsible for defining channel strategy and delivering all aspects of the Veritas Partner Program, including the development of recruiting, training, and marketing programs to support the channel. In addition, she was responsible for all field marketing efforts, including both regional and industry-focused programs.
Prior to Veritas, Parrish was the vice president of global marketing communications for Nokia Internet Communications (NIC) – a division of Nokia Ventures. Before Nokia, Parrish was responsible for US field and channel marketing at 3Com Corporation, where she spent nearly a decade developing and implementing 3Com’s award-winning channel programs. At 3Com, Parrish established 3Com as a leader in channel management and launched the company’s first partner extranet, PRM system and eCommerce systems. At both 3Com and Nokia, Parrish directed global, cross-division planning functions which streamlined budgeting, planning and implementation of marketing programs and saved more than $1M in quarterly marcom spending. Parrish has also held marketing management positions at Unisys and Hewlett-Packard.
Marco Riboli is Vice President and General Manager of the new EMEA Mediterranean Region, responsible for business and sales development in Italy, Spain and Portugal.
Riboli joined Symantec in 2005 as Country Manager for Italy, distinguishing himself by having increased the company’s presence in the Italian market. Enthusiastic by nature, and with a strong client and partner-oriented approach, Riboli managed to transmit this spirit to all his team. Under his leadership, Symantec Italy has gradually become known for its high and constant level of growth, to the extent that it has become a reference point for ‘best practice’ within the entire EMEA region. This success resulted in the nomination of Riboli as Vice President, Enterprise Iberia, at the beginning of 2008, thus extending his area of responsibility to cover both Spain and Portugal.
Prior to joining Symantec, Marco Riboli had been Country Manager for Italy of Veritas Software since 1999. Riboli began his professional career in the Commercial Division of Rank Xerox Italy, after which he joined Memorex Telex. In 1992 he joined EMC2 Italy, contributing to its growth and consequent acclaim in the local market.
Rob Soderbery is senior vice president of the Storage and Availability Management Group at Symantec Corporation and oversees product management, engineering and delivery. He brings to this role 20 years of experience in product development, business leadership and entrepreneurial success. Soderbery is active with customers in ensuring the world’s mission critical IT infrastructure and largest data centers are successfully managed using storage and availability solutions from Symantec.
Key products in the Storage and Availability Management Group include Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas CommandCentral Storage and Veritas Cluster Server product lines. Each of these solutions is available across all major UNIX, Linux and Windows operating systems, enabling IT organizations to reduce cost and complexity through standardization on storage and availability management solutions from Symantec.
Soderbery joined Symantec through the company's merger with Veritas Software, which he joined in 2000. At Veritas, he held a wide variety of executive roles, including serving as vice president of product management for the data center solutions where he shaped the evolution of the product roadmap and go-to-market execution for the company. Prior to that, Soderbery was vice president of Strategic Alliances at Veritas, where he executed hundreds of transactions with independent softwsoftware and hardware vendors (ISVs and IHVs) and channel partners.
Prior to Veritas, Soderbery was an entrepreneur in the semiconductor industry, with two successful startups to his credit as a founder and early employee. He spent a number of years working with partners in the Asia Pacific region in a variety of product marketing and management roles.
Soderbery’s technical background includes a stint as an ASIC developer at TRW. He holds a master’s in electrical engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Caltech.
John W. Thompson is chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer of Symantec Corporation. Under Thompson’s leadership, Symantec has grown from a small consumer software publisher to a global leader in providing security, storage and systems management solutions. Through a combination of strategic acquisitions, strong technology partnerships and organic development, Symantec has grown to become the fourth largest independent software company. With its broad portfolio of products and services, Symantec helps consumers and enterprise customers secure and manage their information assets.
In September 2002, President George W. Bush appointed Thompson to the National Infrastructure Advisory Committee (NIAC), to make recommendations regarding the security of the critical infrastructure of the United States. In addition, Thompson has served as the chair of the Silicon Valley Blue Ribbon Task Force on Aviation Security and Technology to identify and evaluate technology-driven solutions to improve the security and efficiency of national and local aviation.
Prior to joining Symantec, Thompson had a distinguished career with the IBM Corporation where he held senior executive positions in sales, marketing and software development. In his last assignment, he was general manager of IBM Americas and a member of the company’s Worldwide Management Council.
He serves as a director on the corporate boards of UPS and Seagate Technology. In addition, he serves on the board of Teach for America, an organization dedicated to eliminating educational inequities for all children. He completed his undergraduate studies at Florida A&M University and holds a master’s degree in management science from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
Michael Wolfe serves as Vice President of Data Loss Prevention Solutions at Symantec where he oversees product development, sales, professional services and marketing for the company’s DLP solutions. He knows that the power of innovation lies in addressing the customer's business issues first and foremost. Wolfe joined Symantec in 2007 as part of the Vontu acquisition.
Wolfe co-founded Vontu 2001, bringing strong technical leadership to the company based on numerous successes building industrial strength software solutions to address emerging markets. With a mission to reduce the risk of data loss, Vontu helped organizations ensure public confidence, demonstrate compliance and maintain competitive advantage.
Before Vontu, Wolfe served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Benchmark Capital. He was previously Vice President of Engineering, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Products at Kana, Inc. where he founded the engineering team in 1997. During his tenure, he grew the team to 150 developers, helped support over 1000 customers and oversaw development of products generating more than $200M in revenue. His team had two patents granted and won multiple industry awards.
Before joining Kana, Wolfe was the founding engineer at I/PRO, a successful internet media startup acquired by Engage, Corp. in 1999. He was previously an analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he built equity derivative trading and analytic solutions.
Wolfe received a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Candid Wüest joined Symantec in 2003. As Software Engineer at Symantec Advanced Threat Research Team he analyzes the security situation of the Internet, develops threat reports and research reports regarding new security risks like viruses for mobile phones.
From 2004 to 2006 Wüest was Security Response Engineer at Symantec Antivirus Research Centre in Dublin. As security and virus specialist he analyzed malware for the creation of virus definitions, removal tools and detailed reports and analyses.
Prior to joining Symantec, Wüest worked fort he IBM Research Lab in Rüschlikon, Switzerland, developing several projects for the Global Security Analysing Lab.
Andreas Zeitler was appointed Vice President and Regional Manager for Symantec's Central Europe region in December 2006. This region covers Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and the Balkans.
Andreas Zeitler has more than 20 years experience in the IT and software industry. He began his career at MicroPro Inc. as Technical Support Manager. Later he became assistant to the board of management at the computer publishing house, Markt & Technik. In 1982 Andreas Zeitler moved on to Lotus Development, where he took up the post of Marketing Services Manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland and worked as Marketing Manager for the countries above. During the years that followed, he progressed further, becoming General Manager and Regional Vicepresident, assuming responsibility for the destiny of companies like Central Point Software and Novell in Central Europe, Benelux and Eastern Europe.
In 2000 Software AG appointed Zeitler as its Vice President Sales and Marketing for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including Japan. Before switching to Symantec, he was General Manager and Vicepresident of the leading provider of enterprise management solutions BMC Software in Germany.
